From the sellerAn original Confederate short sword by Louis Froelich & Company Kenansville, North Carolina. Double edge Sword blade measures 16 inches. The total length of the sword is 20 3/4 inches. When this sword was manufactured they never put any markings on it to say where it was made. Based on the length of the blade and the overall length plus the way the D- guard was made gives it away and it is definitely a Louis Froelich manufactured short sword. He named his facility the Confederate states arsenal. Has some moderate pitting but not bad at all. Exhibits a pleasing dark patina. Has the original walnut handle grip.
