01 Who we are
NightBids ("we", "us", "our") is a personal project, operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom, that aggregates publicly available eBay auction data. We are not affiliated with eBay Inc.
02 What data we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the site:
- Server logs — standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamp), recorded automatically for security and operation.
We do not:
- require registration or collect names, email addresses, or account information;
- set any cookies of our own — your timezone is chosen via the page address, not stored;
- run analytics or advertising.
03 How we use data
Server logs are used only to operate and secure the site (for example, diagnosing errors and preventing abuse). We do not build profiles or sell data. Our lawful basis for this processing under UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in maintaining the security and functionality of our website.
04 Third parties
Some content and links involve third parties, which have their own privacy policies:
- eBay Partner Network — outbound links to eBay use affiliate tracking; eBay may set its own cookies when you click through. See eBay's privacy notice.
- Cloudflare — CDN and image hosting (cdn.nightbids.com); may process your IP to deliver content. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
05 Data retention
Server logs are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted. We keep no other personal data.
06 Your rights (UK GDPR)
We operate from the United Kingdom and comply with UK GDPR. You have the right to know what data we hold about you and to request its deletion. Because we hold no personal accounts or identifying information beyond short-lived server logs, there is in practice very little to access or erase. For any request, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you feel your data has been mishandled.
07 Children
NightBids is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.

We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
