This is an original WWI 77th Division painted helmet in good condition. The helmet is a Brodie model, and was manufactured by Hadfields Ltd, as indicated by the “HS 280” mark. The helmet has only partial remnants of the original liner and chinstrap. The exterior helmet finish and painted 77th Division logo look consistent for the WWI period. The 77th “Statue of Liberty” Division was primarily comprised of New York troops, and was one of the first National Army divisions deployed in the Great War.
