When I entered the cutlery trade in 1990, Blackie was the chief knife designer at Gerber. Eventually, Blackie moved to Texas and joined Myerco as a partner. While at Gerber, he designed most of the most popular knives made by the firm, including the Gator series and the Gerber Tool.
