From the sellerDistinctive Appearance: War Nickels tend to age differently than standard nickels. When they circulate heavily, they lack the bright, white luster found on standard copper-nickel strikes. The War Nickel, however, utilized a special alloy: 56% Copper, 35% Silver & 9% Manganese.
