From the sellerThe insert says "Hot.". As a kid in the early 1960s, I found this lying in a field, and I kept it on my desk just because I thought it was cool. Despite its age, it still works (!)., with the stem moving easily as I turn the knob and with it successfully blocking both air and water with the valve fully closed (even when I let the water sit in the pipe for a few minutes, it doesn't leak past the closed valve).
