Vtg Japanese Satsuma Moriage Dragonware Goddess Vases - 4 1/4" tall

These Satsuma Vases are hand painted with intricately detailed painting with multicolored glazes in a raised decoration technique called Moriage. There is gold guilding on the dragon heads, therefore the Vases are often called Dragonware. Each depicts Kannon Goddess of Mercy. Satsuma is the term for ceramics originating from Satsuma Province. One vase measures approximately 4-1/4" tall and the other vase measures approximately 4-1/8" tall. They each have red Japanese mark on the bottom. They are in very fine condition with no crazing or cracks or chips.
