Vtg Arlington Briar Corp. Figural Skull Tobacco Pipe Red Painted Hand Carved USA

Up for sale is this highly unique vintage figural tobacco pipe featuring a hand carved skull bowl. The shank is clearly stamped "BRIAR PIPE CORP" making this MCM. This beauty was manufactured by the historic Arlington BRIAR pipe corporation in Brooklyn, NY active in 1919 to 1978. While skull pipes are a classic collector shape, finding a solid BRIAR version finished in an opaque, glossy cherry red lacquer makes this pipe an incredibly rare standalone display piece. The finish shows minor handling wear consistent with the age. The black curved stem fits snugly into the the shank which shows light oxidation appropriate for a vintage estate pipe. Appears to be gently used and airway is clear.
