Up for auction is a beautifully preserved, vintage hand-woven lidded basket crafted in the traditional Northeast Woodlands / Wabanaki style. The piece features a wonderful variegated tight coil weave using natural sweetgrass strands wrapped over a central split wood base template.Dimensions: 3.5 inches tall x 6 inches diameter.Material: Natural sweetgrass and split wood/ash base accents.Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The coils are structurally tight and sound. No major fraying, missing stitches, or structural breaks. Features a gorgeous aged honey-green patina from natural light exposure over time. Lid fits snugly and square on the rim.Uses: A perfect size for a traditional sewing basket, bedside jewelry dish, or vanity catch-all box.
