Description
From the sellerVintage Stanley No.101 Miniature Block Plane (often called a thumb plane). It features a distinctive bright red lever cap secured with a knurled tension screw, sitting on a japanned black cast-iron body. It includes a small circular depression at the toe (front) meant for resting the index finger during precise, single handed trimming. Stanley started painting these lever caps red during WWII and continuing this style through mid 20th-century production.
