Decorative two-piece portable carving set consisting of a single-edge carving knife and matching two-tine carving fork housed in an ornately carved wooden sheath with brass mounts. Designed for field dining, hunting excursions, or gentleman’s picnic use rather than combat. Such sets were popular in the late Victorian and early 20th century period as part of: Gentleman’s hunting kits, Travel picnic sets, Camp dining equipment, Continental outdoor leisure culture.
