Vintage KU Jayhawk Mascot solid brass Metal Figurine, Colleges & Universiti

This is really heavy and could be used as a paperweight or as desk or bookcase ornamentation. It has KU on one side, and the signature of whomever made the figure to begin with before it was cast in solid brass on the other. It has a wonderful patina and in particular, it’s fun to see the detail of the eyes relative to others that are being sold online. Also of note, on one side, the bird is smiling, and on the other side, the bird is looking quite tough. There’s obviously some tarnish on the beak of the Jayhawk; however, I’m 100% certain that it would come off with the right buffing. I did not want to attempt to clean it for fear of altering the patina.I suspect this was one of my parents graduation gifts from KU in circa 1955.
