French Double Grande On Linen. (63" X 94.5") Offered here is a vintage (and impressive) French double grande poster advertising L'Enfant du Mystère ("The Child of Mystery") by Henry Hazart. Printed by H. Herald in Paris circa the 1890s, the poster announces "The first illustrated delivery free everywhere" and reflects the Art Nouveau style of the period. The novel, a serialized roman-feuilleton, was a sensational bestseller of its time, captivating readers with its lurid and breathless storytelling. A restored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. Touch-up has been applied to the interior to address chips and wear. Flaws such as toning, staining, lifts, and tears still remain visible.
