Vintage Duo Point 1920's Tire Chain Repair Install Tool, Central Flatiron Mfg Co

This is a circa 1920's Duo Point Chain Tool, made by the Central Flatiron Mfg Co, 9" long when extended. Not many survive, this is the only one I have ever seen. Usually these were used, abused, and tossed out. This tool is used for the installation or repair of tire chains; any application where two chain ends must be drawn together. To use, you position the arms with the hooks down, and move the handle until the jaws are fully apart. You then hook the hooks onto the chain ends, and when you move the handle in the other direction it will pull the chains together for chain installation or to put in a repair link. A simple and very effective tool; drawing in chain ends by hand is difficult.
