The Vintage Council USA 3lb 8oz Single Bit Axe Head is a collectible axe. Made in the United States by the Council brand, this vintage original axe head is perfect for woodworking enthusiasts, or collectors. Marked 3 1/2 it does weigh 3 lbs 8 oz. Bit is 4 3/4", with a 7" head. This was an estate sale find. The handle was not salvagable. The head was vert rusty with large pits throughout. The rust was removed and 90% of the pits were sanded down. It still has small pits. But is just a few steps from restored.
