Description
From the sellerPlate is approximately 4.5" with butterflies, bitds, and pink flowers. Cloisonné is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with colored material held in place by metal wires or strips, which are typically made of copper or bronze. The metal strips, or cloisons, are soldered to the metal surface to create compartments that are then filled with enamel paste. The object is then fired in a kiln, melting the enamel into a glossy, glass-like surface. The technique flourished in China during the Ming Dynasty and is known for its vibrant colors and intricate designs.
