Alumax of South Carolina was a subsidiary of Alumax, Inc., which operated an aluminum smelter plant in Berkeley County near Charleston, which is now owned by Century Aluminum. The facility, known as the Mt. Holly plant, was the last "greenfield" aluminum smelter built in the United States, beginning operations in 1980. It produces high-grade aluminum billets and other primary aluminum products for industries such as automotive and aerospace. This vintage ball cap is in great shape except for one spot of color bleeding, which is pictured. That’s why I’m selling it at a low price.
