Vintage Antique CHICAGO FIRE DEPT Squad 10 Squad/Truckman's Belt 1940's-80's era

From an estate collection, this item is a leather utility belt known as a truckman's belt & worn by members of the Chicago Fire Dept. for decades. These belts were manufactured in the repair & maintenance shop of the department back in the 1940's for each hook & ladder truck & squad unit. They were stamped with the truck or squad number & belt number, then issued to each member on those units. Squad 10 was located on the north side/Lincoln Park of the city until decommissioned in the late 1960's. Although this belt is decades old is still very pliable and as with any leather product a light rubbing with some neatsfoot oil will bring the leather back to life. SEE ALL PICS
