From the sellerChristian Eckhardt started the porcelain production site in Kahla with 20 employees in the mid 1800's. After the second world war, Germany was divided into 4 parts, with the Allies (US, France and Great Britain) combing three parts into West Germany and the Soviet Union taking the 4th part and creating the German Democratic Republic (GDR - East Germany).
