Vietnam War U.S. Army Brigadier General Flag. Beautiful example of original U.S. Army issue Brigadier General's 3' X 4' one-star flag. From the estate of Brigadier General William (Bill) M. Mantz. Started his career in WWII and served in the Pacific. Was awarded the Silver Star and two Legions of Merit. Was also airborne qualified. Involved in relief efforts after the 1964 Anchorage earthquake. Commanded the Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) during the Vietnam War. Flag is 1971 dated and made by the Valley Forge Flag Co. Inc. Star appears on both sides. One spot of soil on corner, otherwise looks in new unused condition.
