From the sellerVery old crying baby white plaster face mask - signed & dated! "Frederic Burt. 1901". Angled 3-D presentation with bonnet and collar details, along with a tear, closed eyes and crying unhappy open mouth. Reverse side has wire loop originally cast into the piece for wall hanging purposes. Base is 'signed' in the plaster: "Frederic Burt. 1901" Whether this is the subject or the artist, I do not know. But utterly fascinating piece. Came out of the estate of an NYC longtime collector of fine art and high-end furnishings. The photos tell the story. Thanks for looking....enjoy!!
