Description
From the sellerMatted. Not framed. This is an original 1871 Vanity Fair chromolithograph titled "The Lord Chief Baron," featuring Sir Fitzroy Kelly. The caricature was created by artist James Jacques Joseph Tissot and published on November 4, 1871. Sir Fitzroy Kelly (1796–1880) was a prominent British commercial lawyer, Tory politician, and the final Chief Baron of the Exchequer. It is part of the Vanity Fair "Judges" series (No. 5) and is considered one of the earliest depictions of the "Red Robed Judges".
