Description
From the seller1964 USS Newport News CA-148 Zippo Lighter. Insert had been replaced with a 1980's series. Overall good shape for a 62 year old lighter. Hinge has just been replaced by Zippo so it's nice and tight, some color is gone but that is to be expected on a lighter this old. It has the name Rusty engraved on the front which not uncommon for owners to do. Newport News made 3 deployments to Vietnam in the 60's and 70's. Interesting fact, Newport News was the first fully air-conditioned ship in the US Navy. It was also the last all-gun heavy cruiser when decommissioned in 1975. This will be an excellent addition to any collection of Navy and military lighters. I do not have the box this would have come with.
