Description
From the sellerUSMC Hospital Corpsman Bolo Knife with Sheath 1942, Village Blacksmith Produced in 1942, this Village Blacksmith bolo was made for the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. These heavy-duty bolos were issued primarily to Marines and Corpsman serving in the Pacific, where they were used to clear thick jungle vegetation, cut bamboo, prepare defensive positions, and handle everyday camp tasks. They became an essential field tool in the challenging jungle environments of the Pacific Theater. This example is in excellent condition compared to others in the market. It has been resharpened over the years and it has a good edge. Other than sharpening it has not been “restored” in a way that would destroy its natural patina.
