Tantansai Konomi Utsushi Tomaya natsume by Nakamura Kōfu for Japanese Tea

Tantansai Konomi Utsushi Tomaya natsume by Nakamura Kōfu for Japanese Tea Ceremony. This very charming natsume is a copy of one designed by Tantansai (Urasenke 14th generation). The natsume was inspired by one of the san-seki (3 poems of autumn evenings), by Teika, Jakuren, & Saigyō. These poems are depicted on a triad of hanging scrolls and Matsudaira Fumai made a set of three san-seki chashaku. The exterior is taminuri (showing the grain) with black lacquer makie. Inside is a marvelous black and gold makie of birds in flight. Dimensions: D.2 3/4" x H.2 3/4" [D.7 cm x H.7 cm]. Condition: excellent. Comes in original wood box with hakogaki.
