Description
From the sellerThis is a painting I recently completed in 2025. It is done in acrylics on a canvas board that measures 8 by 10 inches. It comes in a frame. The sides of the frame are 1 inch wide. There is a hook on back for hanging. The subject of the painting is Saint Roch, a medieval French saint. He was born wealthy, but gave up all his assets to join a religious group, going out to help the sick and poor. He contracted plague while he was helping people. When he was at his worst, at that point all alone, a dog from a nearby palatial home discovered him and liked him. The dog licked the sores on Saint Roch's legs, and also brought him bread every day until Saint Roch healed. As a result, Saint Roch is now the patron saint of dogs and dog lovers. Winning bidder pays postage.
