Small Antique Hand Carved Wood Architectural Carving Fragment Pedestal Plinth NR

…… Although we are unsure of this Antique Carved Walnut Fragment’s original purpose, it would make a wonderful plinth or pedestal for displaying a bronze sculpture or vase. This architectural element may have once served as a capital from a small carved column. The smaller top end has two old holes and remnants of an old paper label, and the bottom has several small nail holes and three old waffle nails in the center. …… This Pedestal measures 7 1/2” tall, with a 10 1/2” diameter base and a 5” diameter top. As you can see, there are nicks and dings to the dark stained surface, along with some small areas of wood missing and one restored tip, all visible in our photographs. Despite this, it retains a great look and can be used in a variety of ways or displayed simply as an architectural fragment.
