DC Metro Bus Token 1973. The District's bus system, Metrobus, was created that year when the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authorithy (WMATA) merged several bus companies, including DC Transit, Washington, Virginia and Maryland Coach Company, and Alexandria Barcroft and Washington Transit Company. It served D.C.. and Northern Virginia. Most tokens at the had a logo of Serving The Nations Capital. This token's unique logo Serving Our Students has much meaning in a heated decade when busing was center stage in the nation's courts and communities. Coin is in excellent condition and has not been polished. Please inspect pictures carefully before bidding.
