Th May 1937 Coronation of King Edward VIII, the Coronation that never was. thMay1937 ‘, the date of his intended Coronation. th May 1937 having already been completed, it was decided to still proceed with the Coronation on that date, with King George VI being crowned at Westminster Abbey instead of the abdicated King Edward VIII.
