From the sellerShreve made a relatively small number of these pieces, where fine Japanese bowls, usually Satsuma pottery were joined with sterling silver mounts, often a pedestal form on a bowl such as this. I've seen a similar example in the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco and a few other examples in other exhibitions.
