From the sellerCopper 1771EM 5 Kopeks coin from Russia, specifically from the reign of Catherine II in the late 18th century. KM Number C #59.3. Massive die cud extending from the left edge across the left head of the double-headed eagle. A die cud results from a portion of the die breaking off, leaving a void which is filled by metal during striking, obscuring a portion of the design. The term "cud" refers to its resemblance to a wad of chewing gum stuck to the coin. Solid VF.
