ROBERT TAFT and WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT good condition presidential campaign pins

Ohio U.S. Senator and conservative Republican Robert Taft, the oldest son of President William Howard Taft, was a perennial also-ran for President. Here are three campaign items in good condition including the big TAFT button from the oldest son's campaign and two small pin specimens, including (in blue and white) an original William Howard Taft button from 1900. Taft the son loomed large during his era but he has been largely forgotten by history in favor of his father, because he was passed over several times for the Republican Party nomination. The last time it was in favor of Dwight Eisenhower for the 1952 presidential election, and Taft died one year later.
