Here is Civil War book: "RELUCTANT PARTNERS: NASHVILLE and the UNION - July 1, 1863 to June 30, 1865". Written and SIGNED ( see photo # 12 ) by Walter T. Durham of Gallatin, Tennessee in 1987. Rebel Cavalry units periodically moved in behind Union lines and raced about the county south of Nashville making a mockery of Union security.".
