RARE Vintage Bakelite Michelin Man Bibendum Ashtray 1930s-40s

This item is a RARE & highly collectible vintage Michelin Man "Bibendum" ashtray, a classic piece of automobilia from the 1930s to 1940s. It is in good condition; it is missing its right foot/shoe and there is a small white spot on the lower rim (see photos). FeaturesMaterial: The base tray is made of Bakelite, an early durable plastic, while the seated Bibendum figure is molded from a lighter colored plastic or celluloid. Design: It features the iconic Michelin mascot sitting on the rim of a circular ashtray. The figure wears a sash with the "MICHELIN" name.Variations: Manufacturing occurred in several countries, including the USA, England, and France.
