…… This auction is for a unique, original hand-drawn and hand-colored Comic Strip by the American cartoonis Dow Walling (1907-1989.) Walling was best known for creating the long-running comic strip Skeets, which appeared in the New York Herald Tribune and followed the humorous adventures of an energetic young boy and his neighborhood friends. This authentic and original drawing featuring Skeets and his friends appears to be a custom presentation drawing created by the artist for his personal friend Helen Marie Otto, rather than a standard published newspaper page. Ms. Otto is referenced throughout the comic as the children try to think of ways to entertain her, finally ending on taking a group photograph for her.
