RARE Gumps Comic Strip Coin Piggy Bank Andy Gump Savings 1920s Bronze

Andy Gump Saving Bank, cast metal, possibly bronze or copper. Produced circa 1920s, at the height of the popularity of this long running comic strip. Licensed by Sidney Smith, the creator of the strip. Produced by General Thrift Products, I understand it was designed by the noted architectural firm McKim, Mead & White. Andy Gump in the left, Uncle Bim on the right. Andy’s wife Min and son Chester are in the crest on the face. About 5.75” or 14.5 cm tall. Fair condition, some corrosion and Uncle Bim’s head is broken off and missing. Bottom plate missing. Back plate has all six original screws. Sold as is. Very rare, these do not often come up for sale.
