Description
From the sellerRARE find for militaria collectors and collectors of Irish/Ulster photographic studios — an antique carte de visite (CDV) of a young British Army soldier in full dress uniform, posed studio-style with a swagger stick, white gloves, and clasp-plate waist belt. Clearly backmarked by The Ulster Photographic Co., Carlisle Road, Londonderry, managed by James Doherty — a scarce, legible 19th-century Irish photographer’s imprint that’s easy to research further. The glengarry-style undress cap dates this to the 1868–1897 window, and the white gloves point to a line infantry regiment rather than a Rifle unit. Regiment not confirmed — a great project piece for anyone wanting to dig into the uniform details themselves. No reserve — starting at $9.99.
