Description
From the sellerI acquired this item from an estate with many extraordinary antique items and very nice worldly collections. I have also listed another outstanding east sepik river piece from that collection. This is a lovely carved fertility statue carved to bring good potato harvests. Intricately detailed wooden hook figure from the lower east Sepik River tribes of Papua New Guinea lovely painted designs in white, black, and red ochre with a cowrie shell eye on each side. Patina ages it to 19th century easily. Measures 23" tall.
