Description

From the seller
Just appraised on Antiques Road Show. He was amazed by the condition. This is a Prohibition-era malt syrup barrel from Anheuser-Busch, dating from the 1920s to early 1930s. During Prohibition (1920–1933), breweries like Anheuser-Busch could no longer legally sell beer—so they sold “malt syrup”, a legal product often used (not-so-secretly) for home brewing. No date. Has original all wooden spigot. In great condition. clearly stamped: “ANHEUSER-BUSCH INC. MALT SYRUP Batch: (no batch number!!!!) Package: 4/944 Gross: 668 lbs Net: 600 lbs”** US buyer only. Pick up preferred. May arrange shipping by freight. Buyer pays actual freight
