Choose well-drained soil; consistently wet soil encourages rot in bearded types. Its beautifully ruffled flowers feature a striking broken-color pattern, with erratic mauve and purple streaks and splotches splashed over pale pink to creamy apricot standards and falls, adding a playful, sweet spread of color to the landscape.
