From the sellerBeautiful, authentic pair of hand-carved decorative wall plaques made from the dried shell of the native Puerto Rican calabash fruit (known locally as Higüera). These pieces feature finely etched pre-Columbian Taíno indigenous iconography, highlighting the "mono" (monkey) surrounded by river ripples, and a ceremonial Anthropomorphic Deity/ancestral spirit (Cemí), Atabey, who is said to be the Mother of Humanity/the Earth.
