From the sellerFor sale is a pair of British POUND SCALE WEIGHTS. These weights allowed a merchant to verify a stack of 100 pound notes contained the correct number of notes by weighing the stack instead of counting the notes. One weight is calibrated to the weight of 100 Series D One Pound Bank Notes (75 grams). The other weight is calibrated to the weight of 100 Five Pound Bank Notes (80 grams). You know you are doing well when you opt to weigh your money instead of counting it. An interesting collectible.
