Description

From the seller
This First Issue poster from 1968 titled “Bobby Hutton Killed by Oakland Pigs” is from the estate of an Alameda County Sheriff of the times who was also part of a squad referred to as "The Green Meanies", a term generally reserved for the national guard but may have originated with the sheriff 's department. Bobby Hutton was a foundational member of the Black Panthers formed in Oakland, a town in Alameda, CA who was viciously gunned down by police at 17. The signatures at the bottom indicate it being gifted. This poster captures a moment in history related to civil rights and police violence. As a collectible item, it holds great historical significance and cultural resonance for those interested in social justice movements and the experiences of African Americans in the United States.
