This is a really nice original belt. The buckles and keepers which were made for the government by independent contractors were sometimes numbered with matching numbers. The buckles and keepers which were made by government arsenals were not numbered.. This is an early belt made by a government arsenal, and neither the buckle nor the keeper have any markings or any numbers. That is exactly correct. My husband really really hates to let go of this belt, which had had for 30 or 50 years. But he is getting up in age, and the time as come to let some things go to other collectors.
