Moulin de la Galette painting by E. Mayan Original

Painting by Earl Mayan of the windmill and restaurant at the top of Monmartre, Paris, France called Moulin de la Galette. It is on heavy blue paper in painted acrylic. The windmill has been there since the 17th century, and was a popular gathering spot with a restaurant and entertainment. The artists Van Gogh, Renoir, and Pissarro have also painted this picturesque restaurant. Earl Mayan was an illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post, and many other publications. He also taught painting at New York City’s famous Art Students League for 30 years. The painting measures 12” x 18”. It is in perfect condition.
