This detailed traditional Acoma pot was made in the second half of the 20th century by master potter Lolita Torivio Concho (1914-2000.). The raw clay was prepared from scratch using pulverized shards of old Acoma pottery mixed in as temper, as her ancestors did; this elite pink Acoma clay is noted for it's plasticity, aiding in the creation of thin walled vessels in the hands of a master potter like Lolita Concho.
