This is a vintage Lionel 356 Operating Freight Station, a popular O gauge model train accessory produced between 1952 and 1957.Key Features and OperationAction: When activated, a vibrating mechanism in the base moves baggage carts in and out of the station house.Illusion: The accessory simulates "loading" and "unloading" by showing one cart filled with luggage heading inside while a second, empty cart exits.Lighting: The interior of the station is illuminated by a single lamp.Dimensions: It typically measures approximately 15" x 5" x 5.5".
