Description

From the seller
After the city's sacking, most of the Byzantine Empire's territories were divided up among the Crusaders. The Crusaders' decision to attack the world's largest Christian city was unprecedented. A usurper, Alexios V Doukas, "Mourtzouphlos" seized the throne after executing Isaac and Alexios III in January AD 1204 promising the fight off the crusaders.
