Description
From the sellerThis is an oil painting on artist board by John Gordon Saxton. He was born a deaf mute in Troy NY in 1857, died in Connecticut in 1951. He was privately educated until he attended Gallaudet College graduating in 1882. He studied with various American artists until he went to Paris where he furthered his studies and displayed at the Paris Salon. This has some chipping along the edges, the worst one above his signature and a scratch just to the right of the figure.
