Description

From the seller
I’m not a collector of silver spoons, but I did some research based on the hallmarks. This appears to be an English sterling silver salt or sugar spoon. The JA over TS in a quatrefoil indicates it was made by John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater. The other hallmarks indicate city, year, etc. I believe the L in crest equals the year 1783. The spoon is intact but bent, as seen in the pictures. I don’t know if that is original or due to being buried. The spoon measures 70mm in length and weighs 5.1g. I am also including two other spoon parts. One has the form of a small shovel (2.8g.), that I think might have been used for jam. The other is round (1.7h.) and appears to have three worn mint marks that I can’t make out.
